Stockport Pride Event 2024

The Stockport Pride  Parade was described by one Stockport Friend as such a celebration, with lots of people clapping and cheering: A very friendly atmosphere, and our participation was appreciated.

The stall generated great interest and quite a few looked at the Stockport for Peace section. Some enquirers had Quaker connections, others had been to the building. There were many compliments - and they were curious to find out more

.

Manchester and Warrington’s  T shirt slogan "Quakers do it in silence" attracted attention, and several people took photos.

NEEDLE FELTING

Sunday, 30. June 2024 - 13:00 to 15:00
Stockport

There will be needle felting in Stockport Meeting House from 1pm to 3pm. Many Friends have enjoyed flat needle felting in the past. Now is the chance to expand your skills to 3D needle felting. Of course you are still welcome if you haven't been before.

You can felt a picture with 3D sections or a 3D ball, egg, animal, insect or plant. I use my 3D egg as a pin/needle cushion but you could make a square pincushion if you like or any shape you fancy. Bring along a photo to work from on your phone or on paper even. Anyone you want to bring along will be welcome too but this activity is not considered suitable for under 16s because the needles are sharp.
